She season 2 will release on Netflix on June 17, according to Netflix

The second season of the Imtiaz Ali-created criminal drama She will premiere on Netflix on June 17. The series follows Bhumika, a timid Mumbai cop played by Aaditi Pohankar, who discovers the possibilities of her suppressed sexuality when she goes undercover to expose a narcotics network.

Netflix India announced the next chapter’s releasing date on their official Twitter page. “PSA: Make a note of it on your calendars!” In 9 days, #SHE will be back! “On the 17th of June, just on Netflix, catch S2 of #SHE,” the tweet stated.

According to a Netflix press release, the second season features Bhumika aka Bhumi in a vibrant new form. As drug lord Nayak and Bhumi’s senior Fernandez, respectively, Kishore Kumar G and Vishwas Kini reprise their roles.

“Juggling duties, tough relationships, and buried secrets, SHE lives a double life, constantly battling between duty and passion.” SHE: Season 2 continues Bhumi’s journey of self-discovery, focusing on themes of sexual awakening and duality. The official summary of She reads, “She is absolutely magnetic in the way she plays the double risk of being the hunter and the hunted, finding herself plunging deeper into the complex web of Nayak’s schemes while neatly defying Fernandez’s suspicions.”

Even as it catapults to a higher octane drama, She’s second season, according to Imtiaz Ali, remains a deeply personal story. “As she becomes more at ease in the role of seductress, she is lured by the Darkness’s allure.” As Bhumi battles to decide which secrets she really wants to retain, the adrenaline quotient is higher, the canvas is bigger, and the approach is more persuasive,” the series’ creator and showrunner said in a release.

Arif Ali is directing the new season, which is produced by Window Seat Films and Viacom18 Studios’ Tipping Point. She will now witness Bhumi constantly walk a tightrope, not knowing which landmine her next step will land on, according to Arif Ali.

“With death and calamity lurking around every corner, Bhumi’s only hope of surviving is a metamorphosis.” Bhumi transforms into a new person, continuously making life-altering decisions at the expense of trust and obligation, to the point that no one around her is safe. “With various characters and their complexity at conflict with Bhumi’s offering a gripping binge viewing of season 2, the thrill component has been ramped out even further,” the filmmaker noted.

Vijay Varma appeared in the first season of She, which launched on the streaming service in March 2020.
