In his much anticipated film Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan is all set to play a Sikh man. However, the actor’s Punjabi accent in the movie’s trailer received criticism, with several people tweeting that it “appeared pretty phoney.”
Punjabi actors Sargun Mehta and Gurnam Bhullar recently responded to jokes about Aamir Khan’s Punjabi accent in Laal Singh Chaddha when they were busy promoting their next movie Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya.
According to Sargun Mehta, Aamir could have performed better. If Aamir had spoken in only pure Punjabi, no one would have been able to understand, according to Sargun Mehta in an interview with India.com. We won’t be able to understand the next Bengali movie the superstar makes if it uses too many Bengali language.
“Aamir sir is not a Punjabi and he has taken up a role,” Sargun continued. Actors are expected to play a variety of characters. Although jitna bhi unhone kia hain bahot calm and mehnat lagti hain sirf utna karne mein bhi, I can say that he could have done a little bit better. (Whatever he did in the movie, it took a lot of work to attain the outcomes. He has been composed and has put in a lot of effort.
In Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya, Gurnam Bhullar, who will appear alongside Sargun, said, “Basically, it’s a national film that will be released throughout India. The languages used in Hindi movies include Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, etc. We are the ones that draw attention to these issues. Therefore, it shouldn’t matter.
On August 11, Laal Singh Chaddha, a version of the Forrest Gump film, will compete with Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar.
