Sanjay Gupta, who is most known for directing Kaante, a Hindi version of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, among other films, recently took to Twitter to offer what he thought was a witty remark on Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha teaser.

“One reason I’m wanting to see this film is who is selling Golgappas in a moving train,” Sanjay wrote on a screenshot of Aamir’s film still where he is talking about life being like a golgappa while enjoying the snack in a train. In the film’s trailer, Aamir gives an apparently philosophical and life-affirming monologue about eating the Indian snack, which is intended to be a replacement for Forrest Gump’s now-iconic “box of chocolates” remark.

The official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ hit Forrest Gump is Laal Singh Chaddha.

Sanjay’s post was inundated with examples of how he is unaware of what is going on around him, and that the savoury snack is definitely available in trains, as soon as he shared the tweet. Someone posted a screenshot of a headline from when it was announced that train snacks such as golgappa and chaat will be offered. “Do you ever get in railway station?” the user asked in the caption of his post.

“Wow people are dying to watch LSC to find out who is selling the golgappas on train but even the dead folks don’t want to see these movies (sic),” one individual mocked Sanjay’s filmography.

Someone advised the filmmaker to wait until the film was released before making sense of it all. “Vo Aamir Khan hai,” says the narrator. Aapke Jaise ki Films nahi banata, aapke Jaise ki Films nahi banata, aapke Jaise ki Films nahi banata, a Aapko Zaroor pata Chalega aapko Golgappe ke pichhe ka Logic aapko Zaroor pata Chalega aapko Golgappe ke pichhe ka Logic aapko (He is Aamir Khan.) Film ka wait Karo He, like you, does not believe in crafting movies without reasoning. You’ll find out why he’s eating the snack in a moving train after the film is released.)”

Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, will be released in theatres on August 11th.
