In light of the rise in COVID-19 cases in India, Mansukh Mandaviya, the union health minister, will preside over a review meeting with the core panel of specialists on Thursday. Additionally, it is established that the physical encounter will take place in the afternoon.
Mandaviya had previously organised a meeting via video conference with Health Ministers and key officials of States and Union Territories in order to track the development of the immunisation exercise HarGharDastak 2.0 campaign (UTs).
“COVID is still active today. According to reports, COVID cases are increasing in other states. It is now essential to exercise caution and keep in mind COVID Appropriate Behavior, which includes using masks and keeping a physical distance from those who are infected.” He was worried.
By noting growing case positivity in various districts and States and decreased COVID-19 testing, Mandaviya had emphasised that improved and timely testing will enable early detection of COVID patients and aid to stem the spread of the illness among the community.
In order to uncover novel mutations and variants across the country, he had advised States and UTs to maintain and enhance surveillance and focus on genome sequencing.
He stated that the five-step process of Test, Track, Treat, Vaccination, and Adherence to Covid Appropriate Behavior must be maintained and monitored by States and UTs.
