Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actor, insulted Swara Bhasker by referring to her as a “B-grade” actress last year. Swara responded to the remark with sarcasm and labelled it a “compliment.” The Veere Di Wedding actress recently responded to a question regarding the matter by saying that Kangana was simply using her right to free speech in a democratic society.
Swara was questioned about Kangana’s Twitter attacks on her in the most recent episode of The Bombay Journey. Kangana and Swara co-starred in Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Kangana is a frank girl, and I am a frank girl too, Swara retorted. Humne karli baat, toh (So, we talked). It’s all good because she spoke her view and I did mine.
For those who don’t know, Kangana Ranaut referred to Swara Bhasker and Taapsee Pannu as “B-grade actresses” because they opposed nepotism in Bollywood. According to Kangana, Taapsee and Swara did this to gain Karan Johar’s trust and secure their roles in his films.
Swara believes that Kangana’s remarks were a “request” to strike up a dialogue, nevertheless. I just felt that Kangana labelling myself and Taapsee, B-grade actors, was an invitation to talk,” she concluded. We ought to speak, then. Additionally, since it is a democracy, anyone may talk. My sole reasoning is that if you are speaking, I must follow suit. I will also offer my opinion.”
Swara Bhasker and Kangana Ranaut engaged in verbal combat on other occasions as well. Swara made fun of Kangana in 2021 for beginning the feminism movement with her film Queen, and Kangana responded by accusing Swara of shielding the film industry mafia. Even the procedures in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput had caused them to clash.
