The statement of Jammu and Kashmir Police has come on these allegations of Rahul. Police said, only authorized persons identified by the organizers who searched the crowd were allowed inside. The managers of the organizers of BJU had not told about the huge crowd joining the yatra from Banihal, which had gathered near the starting point.

The statement further said the organizers did not consult the Jammu and Kashmir Police before taking the decision to close it after traveling for 1 km. The rest of the journey went peacefully. There was no mistake regarding security in it. We will provide foolproof security. ROP, QRT, Route Domination, Lateral Deployment, and SF including 15 companies of CAPF and 10 companies of Jammu and Kashmir were deployed.

Rahul said in the statement

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘Great reception was given by the people. People had gathered since morning and we were eager to travel. The policemen, who stay near the security cordon during the yatra, are gone or not seen. It is unfortunate that the police arrangements have completely collapsed. He said, ‘The people associated with my security became uncomfortable with this and said that I should not travel further. So I had to cancel my trip today. Others did the padayatra. Rahul Gandhi said, ‘It is the responsibility of the administration to guarantee the role of the police. It is very difficult for me to go against the advice of people who are responsible for my security.

The Congress leader said, ‘I don’t know why this happened. But this should not happen tomorrow and the day after. In response to a question, he said that he would go on a padayatra. The Bharat Jodo Yatra started on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. It will conclude on January 30 in Srinagar.
