Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted prayers and dedicated a Shila temple at the Sant Tukaram temple in Pune today.
Sant Tukaram was a Warkari saint and poet famed for his Abhanga devotional poetry and communal worship through Kirtans. He was a Dehu local. A Shila Mandir was built after his death, although it was not properly recognised as a Temple. It features 36 peaks and a Sant Tukaram deity, and it has been reconstructed in stone masonry.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, the Prime Minister will attend the Dwishatabdi Mahotsav of Mumbai Samachar at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai at around 6 p.m.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Jal Bhushan Building and Gallery of Revolutionaries at Raj Bhawan in Mumbai. Jal Bhushan has been the official residence of Maharashtra’s Governor since 1885. When its time came to an end, it was removed and replaced with a new building. In August of this year, India’s President laid the foundation stone for the new edifice. All of the original building’s defining traits have been retained in the newly constructed edifice.
