NEW DELHI: India’s Minister of Health, Chemicals, and Fertilizers, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum from June 15 to 18. (SPIEF). This week’s SPIEF will be the 25th edition, and it will take place from Wednesday through Saturday.
Since 1997, SPIEF has been held annually, with Russian President Vladimir Putin giving the keynote address. Egypt will be the visitor country this year. The keynote speaker at SPIEF 2017 was India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“We’re seeing a lot of interest from the international community in forums like ours,” Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, stated. “A number of countries have already expressed interest in sending delegates to SPIEF 2022,” says the statement.
As India strives to assure uninterrupted fertiliser supply throughout the kharif season, Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the Indian delegation to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), with an emphasis on fertiliser and potash supplies.
Minister Mandaviya’s visit to Russia will be India’s first high-level visit to Russia since Russia invaded Ukraine in February. Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, paid a visit to India earlier this year.
