Nupur Sharma, a BJP representative, has made a statement against Prophet Mohammad, and the situation in the country is dire. One of his utterances has caused a stir across India. So far, the shocking news and images of the controversies that have erupted all over the country have been released. Former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has now expressed his anger with this severe issue via Twitter. Indeed, he recently stated that he cannot believe this is the India of the twenty-first century. In fact, in a series of tweets, he expressed his displeasure at the hanging of Nupur Sharma’s effigy.

Venkatesh Prasad isn’t the first cricketer who has spoken out about the issue. Gautam Gambhir, a BJP leader and Team India’s staunch opener, also tweeted. He also backed Nupur wholeheartedly. “The deafening silence of so-called’secular liberals’ on the horrible exhibition of hatred and death threats against a woman who has apologised across the country is undoubtedly DEAFENING!” said Gautam. Prior to him, Shoaib Akhtar, Pakistan’s fast bowler, too took to Twitter.

In reality, he penned the following: “The Prophet Mohammed is everything to us. It’s everything for him that we live, die, and accomplish anything.” He went on to say: “I vehemently oppose anything that has been said about Prophet Mohammad. I applaud the Indian government’s move to suspend Nupur Sharma. He expressed the hope that the administration will take action to prevent similar incidents in the future.”
