In the local body elections, Shivpal Yadav’s party will run alone

Shivpal Singh Yadav, the head of the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia), has said that his party will only run in the state’s local body elections.

Yadav, who was in charge of the party gathering on Friday, declared that his group is learning from previous mistakes and will run independently in the forthcoming local body elections.

Yadav stated in a press statement that his party will advance on the basis of inclusive nationalism and progressive socialism.

He stated that no one is permitted to practise politics of division and hatred in the name of Lord Ram without mentioning any specific individuals. He continued by saying that affordable access to education, healthcare, power, and clean water was necessary.

Shivpal Yadav is the younger brother of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and the uncle of Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

Before the 2017 Assembly elections, Shivpal Yadav and his nephew had broken off their relationship.

In 2018, he founded the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia), however both of its leaders joined forces prior to the 2022 Assembly elections.

On the SP ticket, he won the Jaswantnagar assembly district.

The two’s disputes, meanwhile, reemerged shortly after the elections.
