In Prayagraj, an imam was detained for encouraging Muslims to violence



Imam Ali Ahmed of Badi Atala Masjid in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested by police. On June 10, 2022, the imam is accused of instigating a mob to violence following Friday prayers. According to the complaint, Imam incited the police officers to assault them by referring to them as unbelievers. Imam was identified in the FIR filed in response to the ensuing violence and burning. On June 12, 2022, he was arrested (Sunday).

According to reports in the media, the mob began throwing stones at the police after being incited by Imam Ali Ahmed. Following this, there was a rash of violence in which numerous officers and police officers were hurt. Apart from Imam Ali Ahmed and Javed Pump, who were arrested in the Prayagraj riots, the major accused include leftists Zeeshan Rehmani, Sara Ahmed, Councilor Moinuddin, and Ashish Mittal. The rest of the suspects are being sought by police.

Ali Ahmed, according to the report, used the mosque’s loudspeaker to incite the mob. He allegedly screamed, “They are unbelievers, don’t leave them,” while pointing to the police officers. Ali Ahmed is being questioned by the police. In this instance, 80 people have been designated as suspects. There are also 5,000 unidentified suspects. Following in the footsteps of Javed Pump, Shah Alam, the District President of AIMIM Prayagraj, has been targeted by the police.
