In Mission mode, the home ministry will recruit 10-La people

NEW DELHI: The Union Home Ministry stated on Tuesday that it has started a mission to fill vacancies in its various departments, in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demand to hire 10 lakh people across all central government agencies over the next year and a half.

PM Modi issued the decision following an evaluation of the state of human resources in all government departments and ministries, according to the PMO. “In line with Prime Minister @narendramodi’s directive to conduct out 10 lakh recruitments in all GOI Deptts and Ministries over 1.5 years,” a spokesman for the home ministry said in a tweet.

The government’s decision comes after the opposition has repeatedly criticised the government’s handling of the unemployment crisis. Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh stated that the prime minister has made an important people-centric move that will boost employment and bring hope and optimism to India’s youth.

“A vital people-centric decision by Prime Minister Sh @narendramodi that would help the employment situation and instil hope and confidence in India’s young,” Jitendra Singh commented on Twitter. In the next 1.5 years, the government would provide mission-style jobs to 10 lakh people.”
