Heroin worth Rs 4.65 lakh is seized by the Narcotics Department



According to an official, the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department confiscated 397 grammes of heroin worth Rs 4.65 lakh in the local market in separate operations over the previous two days, and detained three people, two of whom were women.

According to the official, the department discovered 255.6 gm of heroin worth Rs 3 lakh on Saturday from the custody of a woman peddler in Dawngzawl, Serchhip district.

On Sunday, excise officials recovered 142 grammes of heroin from Ngur road in Champhai district, according to the official. He stated that two people were apprehended in the local market for possessing contraband worth Rs 1.65 lakh. The three defendants were charged under relevant sections of the Narcotics, Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, according to the official.
