BJP politician links PFI bandh to Bharat Jodo rest day; Congress responds: “RSS chief on Maafi Maango Yatra”

On Friday, BJP leader Kapil Mishra connected the bandh announced by the Popular Front of India (PFI), which is being investigated for alleged involvement in terrorism, with the rest day for the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. After scores of their leaders were detained on Thursday as a result of nationwide raids by the National Investigation Agency, Enforcement Directorate, and police of respective states, Mishra asserted that Congress “suspended” its padyatra on the day PFI and “jihadi outfits” had called for a bandh in Kerala.

Mishra stated in a tweet that “PFI and Islamic jihadi organisations called for strike today and Congress today suspended its padyatra.” “This is the worst and most disgusting thing that could happen,”

In response to Mishra’s implication, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera stated that the party’s 150-day outreach programme, Bharat Jodo Yatra, is set to take a one-day weekly break. On September 15, Bharat Jodo Yatra’s final day of rest, Khera also used the remark to criticise the BJP for opposing the outreach effort by Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, to Muslims.

On Thursday, Bhagwat visited a mosque and a madrasa in Delhi and met Dr. Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organization, who referred to the RSS leader as “the Father of the Nation.” The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been outspoken regarding the operation of madrasas, has the RSS as its ideological mentor.

Gourav Vallabh, a Congressman, urged the head of the RSS to assist Rahul Gandhi in bringing the nation together by claiming that Mohan Bhagwat’s meeting with the chief Imam was a result of the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

“The Bharat Jodo Yatra has been underway for only 15 days, and the results are already available. On television, a BJP spokeswoman stated Godse Murdabad. Mohan Bhagwat visited a person of a different religion at their home. The result of the Bharat Jodo Yatra is this “”Vallabh asserted.

“If this 15-day yatra has made such an impact on you, we would want to urge Mohan Bhagwat to join in the Bharat Jodo Yatra for an hour and walk with Rahul Gandhi with a tricolour in hand,” he continued.
