When asked lately if he had any intentions to enter politics, Bollywood actor-producer Akshay Kumar, who was most recently seen in YRF’s Samrat Prithviraj, responded that he is “quite content” making movies. The next movie Akshay will appear in is Raksha Bandhan, directed by Aanand L Rai.
“I am quite happy creating films,” Akshay replied when asked about entering politics. I do all in my power as an actor to address societal issues. Raksha Bandhan, which I produced, is the one I care about the most, according to PTI.
Akshay further mentioned that he makes three to four commercial movies each year. “I make commercial movies, occasionally tackling social concerns. I make three to four movies a year,” he claimed. While on vacation in London with his wife Twinkle Khanna and daughter Nitara, Akshay attended a book launch event there. From London, where they watched Adele’s concert and took part in the pride march, Twinkle had already posted pictures and Instagram Stories.
Both of Akshay’s movies in 2022—Bachchhan Paandey and Samrat Prithviraj—have had dismal box office performances. The domestic gross for the YRF film was Rs 68.05 crore, whereas the box office take for Bachchhan Paandey was Rs 49.98 crore.
Akshay Kumar revealed that he accepted to star in Raksha Bandhan even before ‘hearing’ the complete script in an earlier interview with indianexpress.com. At my office in the morning, Aanand ji read two lines from the story, stating that there are four sisters involved and that this is the circumstance. I accepted it. Some tales have a worldwide appeal and can move you in only five minutes (of narration). Even with Good Newwz, I liked it and gave it the okay within three to five minutes. He said, “If someone else had heard this story (about Raksha Bandhan), they would have agreed with it.
Following Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar has a number of films scheduled, including Ram Setu, Selfiee, Gorkha, OMG 2, and the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru.
