Aditya Roy Kapur has developed the reputation as a chocolate boy over the years thanks to his performances in movies like Aashiqui 2 and OK Jaanu. He is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming movie Om: The Battle Within. The actor, though, has long wished to shed that reputation and star in an action movie. He eventually won the lead role in Om, a fast-paced action thriller directed by Kapil Verma. He portrays the title character in the movie, which will feature him in a never-before-seen avatar.
The actor recently discussed his decision to take on a different role than he has previously played as well as his experience filming Om.
Aditya responded to a question about why he decided to sign Om in an interview with ETimes by saying: “I heard just 20 to 30 minutes of the first narration and I was intrigued right away because of the emotionality of the issue. Action movies, in my opinion, are merely action movies for action’s sake if they aren’t grounded by a specific feeling and a character’s desire. I was enthused by how much meat there is on the bone in Om’s story.
He continued to tell the portal that he made the decision to join forces with the director of OM, Kapil Verma, and actor Ahmed Khan because he wanted to work with such filmmakers. The actor even admitted that he used to see himself battling in a real-life situation when he was younger. “Actually, I never grew up wanting to be an actor; I wanted to do the action in real life,” Aditya claimed. When I was a child in school, I would picture combat in real life rather than on television. I daydreamed about that throughout my free time.
The first teaser for the movie OM was released in April of this year, and the trailer followed a month later. Aditya can be seen in the trailer sporting a fierce andaaz. Zee Studios, Shaira Khan, and Ahmed Khan worked together to produce the movie, which also stars Sanjana Sanghi. On July 1st of this year, OM – The Battle Within is scheduled for publication.
