KIEV: According to a military officer, the Ukrainian Armed Forces presently hold roughly 46% of the rebel-held Donetsk region. The area is still engulfed in fierce warfare.
According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, commander of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, who spoke to local media on Wednesday, 55 percent of the territory under Russian control has been totally destroyed.
Despite acknowledging that the situation along the entire Donetsk frontline is extremely challenging, Kyrylenko said that Russian troops were “using all the weapons they had at their disposal.”
People who stay claim to have nowhere to go or not have the money to relocate, the speaker continued.
The officer continued, “Most of the besieged population in Donetsk are hiding in bomb shelters due to the ongoing airstrikes and artillery fire.”
